Getting the kids' involved in fitness
Ok, so on this journey we have become more mindful of what we eat and we are trying to get more activities in our life...but with Nicholas being a gymnast, Nathan in a number of sports and Kati just deciding to give gymnastics a try we need to focus on that core strength needed to help the kids succeed in the things they have chosen. However if I tell the kids to make sure they get in their sit ups and push ups...it never seems to happen...and well I sometimes, well ok a lot of times don't get mine in either. So we came up with something that is really working and has been fun. We are running core conditioning stations in our basement. The kids take turns coming up with the stations and then we all go down and do our conditioning. We are keeping each other accountable, because whoever's turn it is to determine the stations is excited to get to the conditioning, the rest of us may not want to do it, but we do because someone is counting on us to see what they have planned. I have been sore so I know it is working and it is a lot of fun for the kids and a great way to spend time together. Give it a try see what your kids can come up with.
